Professor Christopher Armstrong is an Associate Professor of Accounting at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses primarily on corporate governance, with an emphasis on executive incentive compensation contracts. His recent research focuses on the interface between corporate governance and financial reporting. Professor Armstrong’s research has been published in top-tier academic journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Review of Accounting Studies.
Professor Armstrong teaches introductory financial accounting in the MBA program. He received a PhD in Accounting from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, and BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
